Underground Spirit Day: A 6–7 Staff Surprise!
Monday marked the 67th day of school, and with the “6–7” craze sweeping pop culture, our staff decided to join in on the fun, quietly. We launched a little underground spirit day just for teachers and staff to see how long it would take our students to catch on.
From t-shirts with clever math equations to jewelry featuring six and seven charms, tally marks on sleeves, and a few perfectly timed puns, signage on the health office, our team brought plenty of creativity. It was a lighthearted way to celebrate Day 67 and add a bit of mystery and fun to the school day as students slowly started to notice.
At Swallow Union, playful moments like these reflect the healthy, connected learning environment we strive for every day, because here, relationships truly matter.

Discovery Museum Enrichment: Weather and Climate
Our third graders put their knowledge and teamwork to the test as they designed and built mini homes using limited materials—strong enough to withstand a monsoon. Then came the big moment: rainwater testing! 💧🏠 Amazing creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving on display!

Annual High School Band and Chorus Tour
On Wednesday and Thursday, our schools were treated to the sounds of our talented high school band and chorus during their annual district tour. These performances not only showcased their musical skills but also gave our students a glimpse of the exciting opportunities that band and chorus offer in middle and high school. We love seeing our former SU graduates!
A special thank you to Tim Savoy for coordinating this inspiring tradition each year!

Toy Drive - Thank you!
Our Student Council’s toy drive to support the Groton Trust was a tremendous success! Swallow Union families donated an incredible 135 toys, showing true kindness and community spirit. Mrs. Jankowski’s class led the way with 31 toys donated, earning a well-deserved pizza party with SRO Rob. We also held a special drawing for a ride to school in a police car, and we’re excited to announce that Miles is the lucky winner! We are truly humbled by the generosity of our families and grateful for their support of such a meaningful cause.
The moment 4J heard their class won the pizza party!
