🐯 Ti-GRRR Community Highlights

On Monday, we will host our 1st whole-school assembly for our students as we welcome The NED Show to Swallow Union. Click HERE to learn more - The Ned Show promotes positive behavior and academic achievement in elementary schools.

NED stands for N = Never Give Up, E = Encourage Others, D = Do your best.

This is a free program with one caveat - they have a “pay-it-forward” model where following the show on Monday, we will be selling NED yo-yo’s and the proceeds from these sales will cover the cost of this assembly for our school. Student Order Forms went home yesterday - please reach out to your child’s teacher if you need a new one or call the office. The yo-yo’s are used in the show to give the message that while learning to yo-yo we make mistakes, try again, and get better!

What you need to know and do:

  • The yo-yo’s will be sold during lunches all week 9/15 through 9/18.

  • Fill out the Student Order Form (sent home yesterday)

  • Have your child bring it in during the sales dates with a check (No Cash) made out to Swallow Union (memo line TED SHOW)

  • They will receive their yo-yo the same day.

Thank you for supporting this program for our students and those school across the country.

🚗 Arrival & Dismissal Reminders

  • If arriving late (after parent drop-off ends), please walk your child to the front office and sign them in. For safety reasons, children may not enter alone.

  • Any changes to dismissal plans (bus to pickup, alternate bus, etc.) require written notice in the home–school notebook or an email to the teacher that morning.

Thank you for helping us ensure smooth and safe transitions each day!

🥪 Breakfast & Lunch Procedures

  • Free meals for all students: Each student is entitled to one free breakfast and one free lunch daily.

  • Second meals, milk-only, or bottled water must be purchased.

  • Meal planning matters! Please review the daily lunch menu with your child at home. This helps them make confident choices and reduces wasted food. Many students are still adjusting to choosing hot or cold lunch in the morning and discover later they don’t like what they’ve selected.
