Busy Week? End it with pie in your face. Quote from one of our student participants, "Best day of my life!" After the Swallow Union 3rd grade chorus performed for the school community, the audience got to experience the four student winners of the "Pie in Your Face" Fundraiser, cashing in on their prize! Their fundraising efforts earned them the opportunity to pie four of our brave community leaders: Geoff Bruno, Lacey McCabe, Tim DiNicola, and Chrissy McLane. A messy form of community building, but highly effective if measured by the joy and excitement of our "piers" and the student audience. Special thanks to our Swallow Union PTO as well as faculty, staff, and leadership for their continued support, hard work on behalf of our students and families, and unique flair for coming up with creative fundraising ideas and community building events.
Information on FY26 Budget and an upcoming forum scheduled for April 16:
Please stay informed and I encourage you to access the GDRSD home page, where there are links to 2026 documents, the Business and Finance page, and our DESE district profile. The most recent documents include the FY26 Budget Book and recent slide presentations summarizing the Superintendent's proposed budget (no reductions to personnel), as well as two other FY26 scenarios, both of which require significant budget reductions including additional cuts to staff: administrators, teachers, and student support personnel. Please email questions you may have to budgetquestions@gdrsd.org. We will be compiling these and answering them as part of a shared Frequently Asked Questions document. We will also be holding a budget forum on Wednesday April 16th at 7pm, to be held at Groton Dunstable Regional High School - details below.
