At Wednesday's School Committee Meeting, we heard from our internationally recognized chamber choir who recently came back from their France tour: Nice, Monaco, Eze, Avignon, and Paris. Our students performed in some of the most beautiful and renowned venues in the world to thunderous international applause! Evelyn Canela and Caoilainn Campbell, two of our performers, eloquently shared their experiences on the trip and the profound impact our fine arts teachers and program have had on them. Two of our high school fine arts teachers, Tim Savoy & Jon O'Conner, spoke to the trip and to the challenges fine arts in Groton Dunstable have faced given tough budget and staffing decisions made over the last ten years. A critical part of our strategic vision process we are initiating this spring and summer will be to reflect on how we can strengthen all core academic programs, inclusive of fine arts and world language, to provide a more balanced, comprehensive, and engaging education to all of our students. Some images and the slideshow from Wednesday's presentation are shared here:

Our educators are working tirelessly to inspire our kids to achieve, develop their own unique passions and talents, and build a sense of belonging and community within our schools. The personnel reductions and cuts experienced over the last two years have impacted all of us, and it is critical to steady the ship, prevent further reductions, and have the necessary resources to move our district and school improvement plans forward and build a shared vision for our future citizens!
