Welcome Back!

We were so excited to welcome our students back and kick off another wonderful school year at FloRo! It was great to see familiar faces, welcome new ones, and fill our halls with the energy and excitement that comes with a brand-new year. 🦒

Make Mornings a Little Easier

A little preparation the night before can make school mornings much smoother! Encourage your child to pick out clothes, pack their backpack, and make sure folders, homework, and supplies are ready to go before bedtime. Attendance Works also recommends establishing bedtime and morning routines and packing backpacks the night before to help children get to school on time.

It can also help to create a designated “school spot” at home where backpacks, school folders, and other important items go as soon as your child gets home. Building this simple routine helps children become more independent—and means less searching for that missing folder or backpack when it’s time to head out the door!

Dismissal Plans

To help us ensure that every student gets home safely and follows the correct dismissal plan, please send your child’s teacher a written, dated note in the morning if there is a change to their usual plans. For example, if your child will be taking the bus home instead of attending Extended Day, please send a note with them to school.

Please keep in mind that students may only ride their assigned bus and are not permitted to ride a different bus home with a friend or to another location.

If someone other than a custodial parent/guardian will be picking up your child, please include the first and last name of the person picking them up in your note. Here is a pick up permission slip you can use if you'd like. This helps us make sure we are releasing students to the correct person.

We understand that last-minute changes sometimes happen! Because teachers are busy with students and may not be able to check email during the school day, please call the school office with any dismissal changes that occur after your child has arrived at school. Whenever possible, please notify the office before 2:45 PM so we have enough time to communicate the change to both your child and their teacher.

Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, organized, and smooth for everyone!

It’s a fun way to welcome our newest staff members and gives students and families a chance to get to know all of the wonderful people who make up our FloRo community. Be sure to check it out!

Summer Challenge Reminder!

Calling all students entering Grades 1–4! Don’t forget to bring your completed Summer Reading Challenge and/or Summer Math Challenge back to school. Entry boxes will be waiting for you in the lobby!

Be sure your first and last name are clearly written on your challenge paper so we know who you are. We can’t wait to see all the reading and math you’ve been doing this summer—and to enter you into our prize drawings!

FloRo Lost and Found

We are starting the school year with an empty Lost and Found table but we know how quickly it can fill up. Please label your child's items. Lost and found items not collected will be donated monthly. Here's a good laugh about kids losing items!
